Reflections on Sri Lanka by Beam

There are many things worth reflecting on since the programme is at its end. Looking back, I feel like I have made less a difference in the world than I initially thought I would, but that almost does not matter. This is because my favourite moments of the summer were those involving just talking to the people of Sri Lanka, hearing their stories, and be a part of their world. Hence although we set out to make a difference, it has been fulfilling to just be there, immersed in a different culture. However, I am not saying we have not made an impact in any ways. For example, I am extremely proud of the gardening project in which we helped make it happen. Hence the little difference I have contributed feels even more special to me. It has been a very productive summer for everyone and once I have rested and everything sinks it, I am sure that this will go down as one of my best experiences so far.
