Tuesday 3rd August

Today we all went to and visited a new village. We were all quite nervous and apprehensive about this because we thought that we would be teaching English all day. However when we arrived we were in for a nice surprise. It looked like the whole village had turned up at the school for the occasion. We were greeted by applause, flowers and welcoming badges so we were all made to feel like celebrities which was very surreal. We were then shown into a hall with a stage where we lit the ceremonial candle so that the English day show they had prepared for us could begin. This was amazing. They opened the show by singing the hello song followed soon after by wheels on the bus which had great costumes and dance routines to go with them. Later we watched them perform Old MacDonald which had an amazing sheep costume in it and also jingle bells with the world’s best dressed and also slimmest Santa making a star performance. Once the show was over we were taken outside again where we had many pictures taken with the villagers families and for the local press. Soon it was time to leave. We all had a great time and would like to thank the school for a lovely day.
