28th July (written by Mark)

This morning we did not have any formal lessons as unfortunately we had a last minute cancellation of our class. We therefore decided to visit the Belihuloya River, about a 2km bus ride away. It was nice to have a short walk and enjoy the beautiful countryside that surrounds the campus. In the afternoon we were taken to the Faculty of Agriculture and spent some time with a group of third year students. We split into five groups and were asked to discuss the differences between studying and living at Durham, and life as a student here. We spoke a lot about the role of the students union, the differences in our social lives and the availability of jobs for undergraduates. It was a very interesting discussion and we all gave a short presentation on what we had learnt. In the evening our chef, who has very kindly looked after us for the duration of our stay, lead a yoga class. This was thoroughly enjoyable and very relaxing way to end the day.
