14th July (written by Lorna)

Today we went to the Moraketiara school, which was built by the Rotary Club for children aged 6-16.Firstly we taught Grade 1, who have only just started learning English. We began the lesson by revising numbers and were pleased to see that our lesson last week had really paid off! We then moved onto body parts , which involved singing ‘heads, shoulders, knees and toes’ a number of times. By the end of the lesson most of the class could sing along. Members of the local Rotary Club, who conveniently live at the end of the school drive, give us a generous lunch every day. Today they gave us a whole tray of Sri Lankan Desserts for us to try, which were delicious! After lunch we had a class with grades 5 and 6. Today we talked about where we live and showed them a map of Great Britain. We finished with a game of bingo as Sophie felt that she missed out last week!
