Sunday 2nd August by Louisa

Today was a day to relax. With the hectic schedule of Monday morning looming, the group took the chance to lie-in again and catch up on some much needed sleep.Laura, AJ, Emma, Laura, Franky and Andy all got up and went to the swimming pool to either swim or read their books hoping against hope to improve on their sun tans. This hope was soon dashed as the rain began to pour and they were pushed to return to the bungalow. We all went for lunch and soon the sun returned and the rain was nowhere to be seen for the rest of day; which was subsequently spent sun-bathing in the front garden, reading or catching up with friends in one of the highly populated computer rooms.

Later tonight the group went to the Vice Chancellors house as his wife had offered to show the group how to cook some traditional Sri Lankan dishes which we were going to have for dinner. The food was incredible and the V.C and his wife were extremely hospitable and friendly. On leaving the house we noticed that the sky was very clear and the moon had a visible halo forming around it. In order to get a better view we all laid in the middle of the road; the V.C and his wife found our antics very funny, however, it was a spectacle worth the humiliation as none of us had ever seen anything like it.
